Learn Amdo Tibetan
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Learn Amdo app and its companion website, learntibetan.xyz, handle information. Learn Amdo is developed by Paul Istrate. For privacy questions or requests, please use our contact page.
Learn Amdo app
Information stored on your device
The app stores study progress, flashcard scores, achievements, personal lesson notes, preferences, downloaded lessons and audio, and tutorial history on your device. You do not need to create an account to use the app.
If you choose to import an Excel lesson file, the app reads the selected file to add its content on your device.
Internet connections
The app connects to learntibetan.xyz to check for updates and to download or stream lessons and audio. These requests may provide our server and hosting provider with technical information such as your IP address, request time, and connection details. The app does not send your personal lesson notes or study progress to our content server as part of this process.
Purchases
Google Play or Apple’s App Store processes PRO purchases. We do not receive your full payment-card details. The app stores the information needed to recognize your access on your device.
Deleting app data
You can delete individual personal lesson notes in the app. Admin → Delete All Data resets downloaded lessons and audio, scores, study progress, achievements, and tutorial history. The starter lessons included with the app remain available. Uninstalling the app removes local app data from your device, subject to any backups maintained by your device or platform provider.

Contact messages
If you contact us through the website, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message. We use it to respond to you and retain it for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and maintain a necessary record of our correspondence.
Cookies and technical information
The website may use cookies necessary for its operation and security. Our server and hosting provider may process IP addresses, browser information, and request times to deliver the website, troubleshoot problems, and protect it from misuse. Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
Google Analytics and website usage
We use Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors find and use this website and to improve its content and app-download experience. This website tracking is separate from the information stored locally by the Learn Amdo app.
Analytics may collect pages visited, referral sources, device and browser information, approximate location, and interactions such as scrolling, outbound links (including links to the app stores), file downloads, and contact-form events. A recorded store-link click does not tell us whether you installed the app. Form-event tracking records interactions; the text of your message and your contact details are not intended to be sent to Analytics.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including _ga and related cookies, to distinguish browsers and measure visits. These use identifiers rather than your name. Google processes IP addresses to derive approximate location; Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. Analytics information is processed by Google and may be processed outside your country. Retention depends on the Analytics settings and Google’s applicable service terms.
For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on on supported browsers. Blocking cookies or tracking may limit measurement. These browser controls do not replace consent controls where those are required.
Cookie choices
Use the Cookie settings button to accept, reject or change optional Analytics cookie choices. Analytics cookie storage is denied by default. Google Consent Mode may send limited cookieless measurement signals when consent is denied. Read our Cookie Policy for details.
Service providers and security
Hosting providers help us operate the website and deliver app content. Google Play and Apple handle purchases made through their respective stores. Google processes website usage information through Google Analytics as described above. We use HTTPS to protect connections to the website and app-content server.
Your privacy requests
You can use our contact page to ask about information we hold through the website or to request access, correction, or deletion. We may retain information where necessary for security or legal reasons.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or information practices change. The current version and update date will appear on this page.
